Welcome to the DMRC
The Dahab Marine Research Center (DMRC), located at the South Sinai Peninsula, is a supplier of on-reef facilities and services for coral reef research and education. It is an official institution of the Suez Canal University in Ismailia and supported by a diving center (DiveIn, Dahab). It is equipped with 2 classrooms (including several exhibits and optical devices), dry and wet laboratories with running seawater, aquaculture facilities,office space and a library. Apart from proposing excursions for international institutes, universities and schools and providing on-site supervision and logistic support for scientific research in the whole Red Sea, the DMRC offers courses on reef ecology, biologically guided dives and tours to the fossil reefs and the Nabq and Ras Mohammed National Parks. All projects at the DMRC are conducted in close coordination with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), the concerned national park authorities and in cooperation with local communities.
